Unforgotable Conversation

 

On Saturday, I finished the biology group work. My dad picks me up, and takes me to his workplace first before going home.

On the way to work, we chatted

Me: abi, what are you going to do?

Abi : I have to be absent first for the afternoon schedule, then I want to fill in some assignments

Me: How long has it been, bi?

Abi: Just a moment really

Me: Can I come in ?

Abi : Of course

Me: Abi. Are you tired or not, have to work like this?

Abi: Like this how?

Me: like this, you have to be absent in the morning and afternoon. Are you okay?

Abi: If you're happy and like a job, insyaAllah, you won't be tired. That's why you have to know what you like before going to college, so you don't take the wrong major like your mother. 

Me: How come you know if it's the right major? What if it's wrong?

Abi: Apart from trying to choose the one that really fits your interests and talents, pray to Allah that you can and enjoy doing it. Do you already know where to go to college?

Me: I already have a will and a plan. But still in doubt

Abi : Why ?

Me: The major I chose was too difficult. There all smart people from all over Indonesia gathered. So I'm not sure I can survive and even pass there.

Abi: Your just choise that major? 

Me: There are others too. But I still doubt.

Abi : Why?

Me: Even though I'm pretty confident about going there, I don't feel like it's a major that suits me. I also don't want to give up on such a difficult major yet.

Abi: In the past, abi was like you. Abi between the two paths of choice that will be carried out for the rest of his life. First, the major that is the most difficult to enter and is well-known for many students dropping out from there. The lecturers are fierce, the system is disciplined and the lessons are really difficult. Then, Abi still has to do an apprenticeship for several years. Just got a job. The second major, the easiest major. With the capital of desire and relationships, insyaallah, Abi can quickly graduate from there. No need to stress and get dizzy like now. After graduating, you can immediately work even though the pay is not much. If you were among those choices, which would you choose?

Me : ...

Abi :  I will never take a major where the level of difficulty is in the middle. If you don't take the most difficult one, just take the easiest one.

Me: then why did you decide to take the most difficult one?

Abi : because if you take the easiest one, you won't grow. This choice determines what you will do for the rest of your life, and you don't want an easy life without challenges. Relaxing and meaningful. With capital reckless, honest, and hard work. Alhamdulillah, I passed.

Me: a big brain too right, bi?

Abi : yes hahaha

Me: but what if I've chosen that major, and still don't graduate? The course I chose also had a fairly expensive semester fee, and the job prospects weren't really that guaranteed either.

Abi : in that case, just leave it all to Allah SWT. That's the part that we can't arrange according to our wishes. It depends on the sustenance and destiny Allah has given us. The important thing is that you have tried your best, and have no regrets at all. That's why, don't forget to pray after every prayer. Ask Allah to give the right directions, and enough sustenance to carry it out.

Me : okee bi

Abi: do you understand now? Still have doubts?

Me : Alhamdulillah, I'm more enlightened, bi. Hehe

Abi :Alhamdulillah...
